From me to you (…and the photo from my living room that says it all)
December 24, 2017
Half-hour ago, I was running past the yellow jungle gym on the big green, thinking of this amazing tribe of mindful mamas.
I knew I wanted to send you this picture:
It’s what you see as you open up the front door and come into my home.
It has all of these elements:
There’s the Buddha, who symbolizes the capacity to end suffering that is within YOU. Yes, you.
Within each and every one of us, there is a core of peace. We are changing in every moment, and what we practice grows stronger.
In his hands are two heart-stones, one found by each of my daughters at rocky beaches. Each daughter gave her stone to me.
This is the love, and the natural abundance of it in our world. Let’s open our eyes today and see it.
There’s the the Santa, symbolizing Christmas.
Growing up with agnostic parents, Christmas was a secular affair when I was a kid, but now I feel the sacredness of this time. So many are giving, showing our love for each other.
I appreciate more now the birth of Jesus, the awakened teacher, who shows us our light within.
And finally, there’s the party hat, symbolizing celebration. Let’s celebrate this life! Let’s celebrate all we have to be grateful for.

And to you:
We may know each other a lot if you’ve been in Mindful Parenting, coached with me, etc., or we may know each other a little.
Either way, I know that you and I are not separate.
I feel your presence in my life, and I am grateful for it.
Sending you lots of love, mama.
With warmth & lovingkindness,
