It’s the end of January now. Did you have changes that you tried to make over the last few weeks? Did you fail? If so, you may be going about it the wrong way. 

In this episode, Carla and I discuss an article by David DeSteno at the NY Times –The Only Way to Keep Your Resolutions.

Here are some of my takeaways:

  1. Willpower doesn’t work effectively and can be stressful
  2. Power of self-compassion – helps us to begin again. Making compassion a practice (intentionally doing something with the goal of getting better at it).
  3. There’s a big power in Lovingkindness meditation practice – what you practice grows
